APAR status

Error description

  • Even though a user specifies on panel ADB2USO ('Specify
Utility Options - REORG ONLINE') to REORG only a specific
list of partitions, or a partition range, of a tablespace, the
PART specification is not included in the REORG statement in
the generated JCL.  As a result, the entire table is
reorganized when the job is run.

Local fix

  • Add PART keyword manually.

When a user selects an online reorg of a tablespace,
and then enters a list of partitions or partition ranges
in the PART field on panel ADB2USO ('Specify Utility
Options - REORG ONLINE'), the JCL generated does not
include the PART specification. As a result, the entire
table is reorganized when the job is run, and not only
the partitions or partition range specified.

Problem conclusion
