    ****************************************************************
IMS HP Image Copy which is scheduled by IMS Database Recovery
Facility does not set RETPD or EXPDT value in the DYNALLOC macro
( SVC 99 ) parameter list when using the STACK option.

When the stacked image copy data set is requested in IMS
Database Recovery Facility, IMS HP Image Copy dynamically
allocates a dummy data set for obtaining OS control block (JFCB)
that is modified in the IMS HP Image Copy for handling tape
stacking. IMS HP Image Copy does not set the value in the RETPD
or EXPDT parameter of DYNALLOC macro even if either of REPTD or
EXPDT keyword is specified in the control statements of IMS
Database Recovery Facility. IMS HP Image Copy sets actual
retention period in JFCB when processing each image copy data
    sets.

As the result, neither RETPD nor EXPDT value is passed to the
ACS routine from IMS HP Image Copy and ACS rejects the request
of the allocation, if ACS routine is designed to be requested
the retention period at allocation time of the new data set
    mandatory.

Problem conclusion

  • By this APAR, IMS HP Image Copy has been modified to set RETPD
or EXPDT value in DYNALLOC macro parameter list correctly, when
it is scheduled by IMS Database Recovery Facility with the STACK
    option.
