PI89579: MONITORING IS INACTIVE, MONITORING PARAMETERS NOT PROPERLY SET IN CICS TS 5.4

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You have compiled your SIT with MN=ON and MNPER=ON, but upon
  starting CICS, you receive:
  DFHMN0110I CICSXXXX CICS Monitoring is inactive.
  Looking at the Monitoring Domain in a dump, all monitoring
  parameters are switched OFF.
  Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVxxx
  WLMHEALTH interval and percent are not honored if they are
  coded in the assembled SIT table. DFHMN0115I
  

Local fix

• Specify a SIT override for a monitoring parameter, eg:
  MNFREQ=010000

  Specifying SIT parameters WLMHEALTH and/or monitor options may
  not be honoured at CICS startup unless a SIT override was also
  specified. If one of the following are defined
  as a SIT override: MN, MNPER, MNEXC, MNRES, MNIDN, MNCONV,
  MNSYNC, MNTIME, MNFREQ, UOWNETQL and WLMHEALTH then the SIT
  parameter(s) will be honoured.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFHPAGP has been changed to honour one these values from an
  assembled SIT if no SIT override is present in SYSIN.
