Error description

  • Attempting to migrate a profile that is registered to an admin
agent. Migrating from WAS 8.5.5 to WAS 9.0. Running the
    WASPostUpgrade command fails with error:
MIGR0506E: Deregistration from old admin agent unsuccessful,
make sure old admin agent process is running and the soap port
    is correct
    com.ibm.ws.migration.utility.ArgumentException:
      --
Analysis shows the error is issued by the deregisterNode
process. It is failing because the systemapps.xml file is
empty. It looks like the systemApps applications were
    uninstalled before doing the migration.
An empty systemapps.xml file should not cause the
    deregisterNode to fail.

Local fix

  • Reinstall a system app before doing the migration.
