Error description
Case1: Table did get recreated and loaded but did not get started for acceleration or replication. Analysis: - Add missing support for replication (enough to address this issue at least, time permitting - other overall replication support handled). - Create global options to Re-enable acceleration and replication on accelerated tables. - Based on global options, save (before drop) and restore table acceleration/replication. Case2: Table contains a clob. Such tables containing clobs, blobs, xml do not get recreated or loaded. The error message should only be a warning and the table should get loaded. That is the case from data studio. Analysis: - Issue information message instead of error and proceed with LOAD (if enabled) or RC=4. Case3: The table did not get recreated or loaded. Maybe because it has a MQT dependent on it? Analysis: - Related MQT should not cause any failure. Cannot recreate the issue on RS, using single accel environment (instead of two). Open ZTEAM ticket to add more accel & try recreate with two accels.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration for z/OS * * who use IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator * * (IDAA) for z/OS. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When accelerated tables are dropped * * and recreated on the DB2 side, tables * * are recreated and loaded on the * * accelerator as well, but acceleration * * and replication on the tables are not * * restored back. * * * * In case of accelerated tables having * * CLOB columns, recreate process * * terminates with error ADB5258E, * * instead of proceeding with a warning. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When accelerated tables are dropped and recreated on the DB2 side, tables are recreated and loaded on the accelerator as well, but acceleration and replication on the tables are not restored back. This APAR adds support for replication and improve handling of accelerator warnings. User will be able to perform below actions: 1. View replication information as part of the accelerator status details ("I" line command on panel ADBPZAC "DB2 Accelerators"). 2. Start or Stop replication for the accelerator ("STAREP" or "STOREP" line commands on panel ADBPZAC "DB2 Accelerators"). 3. Enable or Disable replication for accelerated tables ("ER" or "DR" line commands on panel ADBPZAT "Display Accelerated Tables"). 4. Specify global change options on panel ADB2PCO "Options for Change Functions" to enable acceleration or replication, along with automatic recreate and reload options. "Restore acceleration of tables" (Yes/No. Default is Yes) "Restore replication of tables" (Yes/No. Default is Yes) 5. Specify new CM batch parameters to support new global change options. ENABLE_ACCELERATED_TABLES = Y|N REPLICATE_ACCELERATED_TABLES = Y|N 6. In case of accelerated tables having CLOB columns where the recreate process terminated with a failure "ADB5258E Table(s) cannot be recreated on the accelerator. A warning occurred during the call to accelerator stored procedure SYSPROC.", it will instead proceed and issue the warning message "ADB5275W A warning occurred during the call to accelerator stored procedure SYSPROC. ACCEL_ADD_ TABLES. Tried to add the >tablename< table to the >ACCELname< accelerator, but the data type of the following columns is not supported: >colname< CLOB(102400),DB2_GENERATED_ROWID_FOR_LOBS ROWID NOT NULL". msgADB5258E msgADB5275W
