PI88719: DB2 ADMINISTRTION TOOL - B37 ON SRC2OUT AS MULTIVOLUME DATASET IS NOT ALLOWED ON REFER BACKS IN JCL

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When comparing hunderds of objects, B37 on SRC2OUT as
  multivolume dataset is not allowed on REFER backs in JCL.
  

Local fix

• Run with the following generated jcl parameters
   PROCORD = 'T'
   DISOPTRE = 'Y'
  and without refer backs for SRC2OUT. Separate SRC2OUT from
  the SRCSOUT DD name with its own data set name and space
  allocations and larger space allocation for both.

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved by using SRCSOUT and TGTSOUT data
  sets as SORT output and therefore avoiding the refer-back.
  
  Please note that:
  - it requires that SRCSOUT uses data-class that has a volume
    count that allows SRCSOUT to extend to a multi-volume data
    set (i.e. the data class has volume count greater
    1).
    ex: SPACE=(CYL,(1000,500)),DATACLAS=MULTIVOL,
  - VOL=(,,n) does not work because the file is open and closed
    multiple times for both input and output during the compare
    process. It causes:
    IEC145I 413-1C,IFG0193A,ADB2226,T01COMP,SRCSOUT,A349,TSP121
  
    But VOL=(,,n) does work with tape.
  
  - RLSE is removed from the SPACE parameter on the DD cards
    for SRCSOUT and TGTSOUT.
