Error description
EclipseLink generates preallocated sequence values at NEXTVAL - allocationSize. This strategy causes an incompatibility with other jpa providers, namely OpenJPA, that expects ID values to be beyond NEXTVAL. This PMR provides an enhancement to EclipseLink in for form of a new persistence property that allows the behavior to change and add compatibility to existing tables IDs from other jpa providers. The new persistence property is this: <property name="eclipselink.sequencing.start-sequence-at-nextval" value="true"/> With this property set, EclipseLink will start generating sequence ID values from NEXTVAL forward, instead of the default behavior of starting at (NEXTVAL - size). Note that the default behaviour remains "as-is". This APAR was taken to ship this new support. Please read the responder page in case of changes to the final code behaviour.
