APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a customer is using Product Insights and has dynamic config
    enabled, they would expect that removing the configuration
    file would disable Product Insights.  Instead, Product
    Insights currently continues to send usage data to Bluemix
    based on its last known config until the app server is
    restarted.

    If the
    com.ibm.websphere.cloud.productinsights.enableDynamicConfig
    property has been set to true on a server and the
    was-product-insights.properties file is removed from that
    server's config, Product Insights continues to send usage data
    with the last known config until the server is restarted.
    This can cause spurious errors and unexpected behavior on the
    server.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The Cloud Product Insights feature has been updated to disable
    itself and stop sending usage when no
    was-product-insights.properties files are present in a
    server's config.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 8.5.5.13 and 9.0.0.6.  Please refer to the
