Error description
CICS region abended after a series of errors that began with a purge issued by a CIEP task. The error messages in this sequence begin with: . DFHXM0004 A possible loop has been detected at offset X'FFFF' in module DFHXMTA. . DFHDS0001 An abend (code ---/AKEC) has occurred at offset X'272C' in module DFHDSAT. . DFHXM0002 A severe error (code X'1013') has occurred in module DFHXMIQ. . The errors continued until CICS finally abended. . The XM0004 dump is taken because the CIEP task has been detected as runaway after recursive AXMA errors occurred for the task. CICS trace shows DFHXMTA's recovery routine being driven over and over while processing a PURGE_INHIBIT_QUERY request from DFHDSAT. The AXMA abends are occurring on UNLOCK requests with reason LMLM_NOT_LOCK_OWNER. . Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVxxx state_lock_error_code

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHXM0004 followed by other * * severe errors following a * * task purge. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: . * **************************************************************** Following a purge of a task, CICS goes into a loop in DFHXMTA. This produces the following message one or more times: +DFHXM0004 applid A possible loop has been detected at offset X'FFFF' in module DFHXMTA. . This may be followed by other messages such as: DFHDS0001 APPLID An abend (code ---/AKEC) has occurred at offset X'272C' in module DFHDSAT. DFHXM0002 APPLID A severe error (code X'1013') has occurred in module DFHXMIQ. DFHXM0002 APPLID A severe error (code X'100D') has occurred in module DFHXMIQ. DFHXM0004 APPLID A possible loop has been detected at offset X'2A48' in module DFHXMIQ. DFHIE0001 APPLID An abend (code ---/AKEC) has occurred at offset X'2640' in module DFHIEIE. DFHSM0002 APPLID A severe error (code X'0314') has occurred in module DFHSMGF. +DFHAP0001 APPLID An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'0408' in module DFHABAB. . The errors occur due to an attempt by DFHXMTA to release a lock which it does not own. This results in a LMLM_EXCEPTION, with reason LMLM_NOT_LOCK_OWNER, which causes the DFHXMTA recovery routine to be driven in a loop for code (AXMA). .
