Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMS Admin Tool V1R1. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. A situation exists where if the * * user is displaying a list of object, * * utility, or job profiles, a blank line * * will be generated in the list. * * 2. The registration process for an IMS * * instance can fail if information for * * both PARM1 and PARM2 is entered in the * * IMS Task User Parms field. * * 3. IMS Admin Tool registers itself * * incorrectly in the IMS Tool Knowledge * * Base (ITKB). * * 4. DSTYPE keyword in %DDN function * * reports an incorrect value for a HALDB * * ILDS. * * 5. Inconsistencies in import. * * 6. Admin Tool function templates do * * not support variables in %SET * * statements. * * 7. Confusing dynamic allocation errors * * can be generated for DBD copybook * * processing. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF that corrects this APAR. * **************************************************************** 1. If a user attempts to display a list of object, utility, or job profiles, and the filter used to display the list results in the back-end process finding only unshared profiles for other users, a blank line will be generated for the list. 2. Entering values for both PARM1 and PARM2 in the IMS Task User Parms field results in an invalid ATY3127E message. 3. The IMS Admin Tool will register itself with an incorrect version number and a non-standard product name. 4. The DSTYPE keyword in a %DDN function in a utility template will report 'ESDS' instead of 'INDEX' for a HALDB ILDS. 5. Import will return an RC=4 if multiple export files are used and one of the export files is empty. 6. Certain function templates utilized in other IMS Tools products expect to be able to specify variables in %SET statements. IMS Admin Tool did not support this. 7. If you specify Copybook processing for a DBD, but fail to define a Copybook, IMS Admin Tool will attempt to dynamically allocate a blank data set name instead of detecting that the data set name is blank. This results in a confusing dynamic allocation message that is difficult to diagnose.
Problem conclusion
Upon application of this PTF, and upon re-registering the IMS Admin Tool in the IMS Tools Knowledge Base (ITKB), all of the above problems will be fixed.
