Error description

• A complex report combines queries from multiple SQL Server data
  sources.  The report uses the SQL Server convert() function in
  some calculations with syntax similar to convert(varchar(20),
  [QueryItem]).  When the report is executed, errors are thrown
  indicating that malformed SQL was sent to the database:
  
  RQP-DEF-0177 An error occurred while performing operation
  'sqlPrepareWithOptions' status='-56'.
  UDA-SQL-0115 Inappropriate SQL request.
  UDA-SQL-0564 [Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Deferred
  prepare could not be completed.
  UDA-SQL-0564 [Microsoft SQL Server Native Client
  11.0]Statement(s) could not be prepared. (SQLSTATE=42000,
  SQLERRORCODE=8180)
  UDA-SQL-0564 [Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Incorrect
  syntax near '<alias>'. (SQLSTATE=42000, SQLERRORCODE=102)
  UDA-SQL-0564 [Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0]'varchar'
  is not a recognized built-in function name. (SQLSTATE=42000,

Local fix

• Change vendor-specific CONVERT() functions to CAST() functions
  instead.
