PI86937: IF A TRUNCATE IMMEDIATE FAILS AND THE UR IS SUBSEQUENTLY ROLLED BACK, AN SDUMP IS ISSUED AND THE SUBSCRIPTION ENDS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a TRUNCATE IMMEDIATE is issued but fails and is rolled back,
  the logged UR contains a sequence of DB2 Diagnostic records and
  UR Control records that is not handled properly by IIDR CDC for
  z/OS.  A problem is detected and an SDUMP is issued.  Since
  this is a day one defect, the content of the dump title could
  vary considerably, and so cannot be used to identify requisites
  for the problem.
  

Local fix

• To get past this problem, either use SETLOGPOS to bypass the UR
  in the log, or refresh all tables in the subscription so that
  the portion of the log where the TRUNCATE IMMEDIATE appears
  will no longer be accessed by the subscription.

  A failed TRUNCATE IMMEDIATE SQL statement will cause IIDR CDC
  for z/OS to request an SDUMP and terminate the subscription.
  

Problem conclusion

• Logic has been ammended to recognize and process a failed
  TRUNCATE IMMEDIATE correctly.
