Details: Eclipselink's embeddable processing contains an
unintended short circuit which prevents complete and proper
processing for all users of an Embeddable type.

Pertains to sequence generation of ID values for @Embeddable
classes used as @EmbeddedIds. If the embeddable is shared
between multiple entities and uses @GeneratedValue with sequence
generation, EclipseLink will generate the wrong ID value.

Example:
@Entity public class Author {
	@EmbeddedId private AuthorId id;
}

@Entity public class Book {
	@EmbeddedId private BookId id;
}

@Embeddable public class AuthorId {
	@Embedded private NumberId numberId;
}

@Embeddable public class BookId {
	@Embedded private NumberId numberId;
}

@Embeddable public class NumberId {
	@SequenceGenerator(name = "ID_SEQ", sequenceName =
"ID_SEQUENCE", allocationSize = 50, initialValue = 1000)
	@GeneratedValue(generator = "ID_SEQ")
	private Long value;
}

Exception:
Unique index or primary key violation: "PRIMARY KEY ON
PUBLIC.AUTHOR
(ID_NUMBER)"

Problem conclusion

The fix for this APAR changes the EclipseLink implementation and
involves an update to the thirdparty source. See
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=520387

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) 9.0.0.6 of WebSphere Application Server
version 9.0.0 and in fix pack 17.0.0.4 for WebSphere Application
Server Liberty.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
