Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    * Server using the administrative console *
    * and wsadmin to install/delete the same *
    *                  application.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When an application is deleted from *
    * the console then added back with *
    * wsadmin, modules are still marked as *
    *                      deleted.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Logoff the console after deleting *
    * applications so that the marker files are *
    *                  notn needed.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    The marker files indicating that a module has been deleted
    were not being deleted when the workspace refreshed with an
    application that had previously been uninstalled. They would
    be deleted if the application were reinstalled with the
    console.

Problem conclusion

  • When the workspace is being refresehed with an application had
    previously been deleted, the deleted module marker files will
    be deleted.
