  all packages takes a very long time and consumes too much CPU.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration for z/OS     *
  *                 who want to perform BIND or REBIND on        *
  *                 DB2 packages.                                *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: BIND and REBIND package commands takes  *
  *                      a really long time, to generate a batch *
  *                      job or work statement list for a large  *
  *                      number of packages (eg. 8000).          *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When issuing the BIND or REBIND primary commands
  on a large number of packages (eg. 8000) on panel
  ADB21K "Packages", generation of a batch job or work
  statement list (WSL) containing the statements consumes
  a considerable amount of CPU time (eg. 30 min).
  
  This APAR adds performance improvement for these batch
  operations by avoiding unnecessary checks and restructuring
  code path where possible. However, these operations will still
  not be as quick compared to creating them via a REXX program
  due to the considerable amount of panel processing behind
  the scenes to make sure all cases are handled correctly.
