APAR status

Error description

  • When location of the AppServer logs being set to something else
    other than default, collector tool failed to capture and bundle
    all the historical files for the logs.

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The collector tool does not collect the *
    *                      historical log and trace files, if the  *
    *                      default log locations are changed.      *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    When the default location of the JVM log and trace
    files are modified, the collector tool will not collect the
    historical files in the non-default file locations. The
    collector
    tool relies on information in the server.xml, hence it will only
    collect the files with the base filename (eg. SystemOut.log,
    trace.log, etc.), and not the historical files.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code logic for the collector tool was updated to collect all
    the log and trace files, including the historical files, if the
    default log locations are changed.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.13 and 9.0.0.7. Please refer to the Recommended
