  * that contains a SELECT DISTINCT or                           *
  * GROUP BY and a FETCH FIRST or OFFSET                         *
  * clause.                                                      *

  An ABEND04E RC00E72058 can occur at DSNXSMRG P060 when
  attempting to process a query with either a SELECT DISTINCT or
  GROUP BY and a FETCH FIRST or OFFSET clause.
  
  This problem can occur when SORT can't use the optimized FETCH
  FIRST logic because the size of the data and the number of rows
  is larger than MAXSORT_IN_MEMORY. If sort was able to use
  in-memory, all of the data could fit within a single sort tree
  which it does.
  
  However, sort didn't calculate one of the variables correctly
  causing an error in the calculation during the merge phase
  which leads to the reported abend.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 has been modified to calculate the variable correctly in
  order to avoid the possible abend.
