Error description
Load Balancer for IPv4 and IPv6 has a delay invoking go scripts when a takeover occurs in high availability configurations.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Load * * Balancer for IPv4 and IPv6 with high * * availability * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: During a takeover, invocation of the * * go scripts may be delayed up to 10 * * seconds. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The delay invocation of the go scripts can increase cluster outage if required configuration occurs in the go scripts. Normally this is not an issue since the go scripts typically only report that a takeover has occurred.
Problem conclusion
The high availability monitor periodcally queries the high availability status to determine if a takeover has occurred. This polling interval was non-configurable and defined to occur every 10 seconds. With this change, the polling will occur every 3 seconds and can be configured using the custom property LB_HA_INTERVAL. To set the custom property, add -DLB_HA_INTERVAL="<value"> to the dsserver script java call which invokes SRV_KNDConfigServer (typcially the last java call in the script) and restart the load balancer for the setting to take effect. You can verify the interval setting in the output at the beginning of the hamon.log Fix levels: 8.5.5.13 9.0.0.6
