Error description

  • Using a modify command (/F cicsname,CESN USERID=uuuu PS=pppp) a
user logs on to CICS. After a minute, the user gets timed out
(timeout value in the RACF profile for the user is set to 60
seconds). When CESC runs, CICS sets the terminal Next_Transid
field to "CSGM". In the trace we see:
    AP 1700 TFIQ ENTRY - FUNCTION(SET_TERMINAL_FACILITY)
    TERMINAL_TOKEN(11E81ED0) PSEUDO_CONV_NEXT_TRANSID(CSGM)
    .
When a subsequent modify command logon (/F cicsname,CESN...)
is issued, trxn_id "CSGM" is invoked and not "CESN".
    .
Code in DFHCESC issues the SET_TERMINAL_FACILITY when
    TCTEGMMI & ^TCTESUR.
    .
TCTEGMMI is bit '02' at offset x'216' into the terminal.
BUT, this is a console so the terminal length is x'120'.
If residual storage after the console has this bit set then
the Next_Transid field is set to the SIT GMTRAN parameter.

    * RECOMMENDATION: .                                            *
    ****************************************************************
A CICS console session is timed-out.
CICS incorrectly starts the Good Morning transaction
(defined in the GMTRAN system initialization parameter)
    on the console terminal.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHCESC has been changed to prevent it from starting the
GMTRAN transaction on a console terminal.
