PI84867: QMF HANGS IN DSQCSUB WHEN QUERYING XML DATA

Error description

• QMF hangs in DSQCSUB when querying XML data
  

Local fix

• Set DSQEC_BUFFER_SIZE of 4, the original setting, to avoid the
  problem.
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS V12.1 users.            *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: QMF can loop in DSQCSUB when running a  *
  *                      query under specific conditions. If the *
  *                      query returns a raw data row that is    *
  *                      very small and DSQEC_BUFFER_SIZE has    *
  *                      been set to a large value, the problem  *
  *                      can occur. The user is able to use the  *
  *                      attention key to cancel the loop.       *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Module DSQFQDRM was setting a value larger than could be set
  to variable IFSMAXRW. As a workaround, DSQEC_BUFFER_SIZE can
  be set to the default value of '4'.
  

Problem conclusion

• DSQFQDRM has been corrected.
