    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Using JMS 2.0 delivery delay feature *
    * with a large number of delayed messages *
    *                      on the SYSTEM.DDELAY.LOCAL.QUEUE, high  *
    * CPU usage may be seen for the Queue *
    *                      Manager.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    Messages delayed using JMS 2.0 delivery delay are put on to the
    SYSTEM.DDELAY.LOCAL.QUEUE. The delivery delay processor browses
    this queue with message marking to deliver the message when the
    delay time has expired. However the browse cursor is incorrectly
    reset, which results in the delay processing starting the browse
    from the beginning of the queue. With a large number of delayed
    messages this can result in a large increase of CPU usage.

Problem conclusion

  • The cursor logic when browsing a queue with message marking, has
    been corrected to not incorrectly reset the cursor in this case.
