  • A Change Management batch job ends with ONCODE=1018 instead of
    an error message when GOCCM.SRCIN NAME parameter is missing
    an apostrophe ('):

Problem summary

    *                 and have an input DD in the JCL.             *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Input DD statement has a typo and       *
    *                      causes a ONCODE=1018 / ONCODE1018       *
    *                      error. There is no message displayed    *
    *                      to inform the customer an error         *
    *                      has occurred.                           *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    When DD is specified for input in the CM batch job, a typo
    in the input parms cause an ONCODE with no mention of the
    error. The error should be captured by the code with a
    message saying input parameters are incorrect.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Problem has been resolved.
    The new message ADB9971E / msgadb9971e will be
    displayed:
    
    ADB9971E
    Error reading input parameters from DD file:
    dd_file_name.
    User Response:
    An input for the DD file was incorrectly setup. Please
    check the inputs for the DD file and correct inputs.
    Possible missing ending quotes could be the problem.
    System Action:
    Processing stops.
