    ****************************************************************
A StackOverflowError will be thrown if a web module contains
references to a loose Jar file within the module's WEB-INF/lib
folder that contains a WEB-INF folder, preventing the
application from starting successfully. An exception similar to
the one below will be reported:

    java.lang.StackOverflowError
    at java.util.regex.Pattern.newSlice(Pattern.java:3335)
    at java.util.regex.Pattern.atom(Pattern.java:2210)

Problem conclusion

  • The JSP engine was modified to scan loose Jar files correctly to
    prevent the StackOverflowError.
