Error description

  • Customer WARM starts their CICS WUI server and discover their
TCPIPSERVICE is left in a CLOSED state instead of being OPEN
for business. The WUI code discovers an existing TCPIPSERVICE
from the previous run and must DISCARD the existing instance
then create and install a new TCPIPSERVICE. The discard of the
service drives a DEREGISTER to TCP/IP. TCP/IP fails the
DEREGISTER with an EUNATCH response. The following exception
    trace entry is produced:
SO 0C63 SOLS *EXC* - EUNATCH RECEIVED RETURN_VALUE(-1)
                            RETURN_CODE(3448) REASON_CODE(00000000)
The following error message is produced to document the failure:
DFHSO0102 A UNIX System Services Assembler Callable Service
error (code X'0C63') has occurred on receipt of a severe
TCP/IP return code; the TCPIPSERVICE servicename on port
portname at IP address iaaddress will be closed.
The service is closed and must be manually reopened.
    Additional Symptom(s) and Keyword(s): KIXREVEPH

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all MASes executing as WUI servers *
    * must be restarted. Note that the restarts *
    * do not need to occur at the same time. *
    ****************************************************************
The problem occurs when using Dynamic Virtual IP Addressing
(DVIPA) and running under z/OS V2.2 or above.
It only happens if the WUIPARM CMCIPORT(nnnnn) is specified to
    request the optional CMCI Service.

During a WARM restart of a CPSM WUI server, any existing WUI
TCPIPServices and URIMAPs for the WUI or CMCI interfaces are
discarded and then reinstalled by module EYU0VWXI. The EYUWUI
TCPIPService and associated URIMAP are closed and then
reinstalled followed by the discard and reinstall of the
    EYUCMCIT TCPIPService and EYUCMCIU URIMAP.

If the two TCPIPServices use the same DVIPA address, the
subsequent closure of the EYUCMCIT TCPIPService will cause
z/OS to send an EUNATCH notification to CICS for EYUWUI and
that TCPIPService to be closed again, resulting in the
OPENSTATUS of the EYUWUI TCPIPService being left as CLOSED
    instead of OPEN.

Examination of the region's AUXTRACE may show an exception
    similar to the following:
SO 0C63 SOLS *EXC* - EUNATCH RECEIVED RETURN_VALUE(-1)
        RETURN_CODE(3448) REASON_CODE(00000000)

Problem conclusion

  • Module EYU0VWXI has been modified to discard all existing
EYUWUI and EYUCMCIT TCPIPService and associated URIMAPs before
reinstalling any of them during a WARM start.
