PI83018: SOCIPHER SELECTION CRITERIA INCLUDE EXCLUDE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You use the CICSPA ISPF dialog to generate a performance list
  report with selection criteria to exclude SOCIPHER 0035 however
  your LIST report still includes the 0035 cipher.
  
  You SYSIN DD JCL looks similar to the following:

Local fix

• Change the cipher value to be excluded from hex to decimal..in
  the example above in the APAR description to exclude cipher
  0035 specify the value in decimal as 0053.

  CICS PA does not honour SOCIPHER field selection criteria when
  applied to Performance List report/Extract, HDB Load, Report
  and Extract. For example:

  SELECT(PERF(INC(SOCIPHER(002F)))),
  
  SOCIPHER is a 4-byte field with leading nulls. For example,
  cipher 2F has been selected, the field value is x'0000002F', or
  cipher 35 has been selected, the field value is x'00000035'.
  CICS PA reported this field as a 4 byte characters field.
  For example, if the SOCIPHER value is x'0000002F' or
  x'00000035' in the report this field displays as C'002F' or
  C'0035'.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS PA is changed to ensure that SOCIPHER field selection
  criteria works correctly for Performance List report, Extract,
  HDB Load, HDB Report and HDB Extract.
