PI82888: NEW, EMPTY IDAA SUBSCRIPTION WILL FAIL TO START WITH CHC9210E

Error description

• In an IDAA continuous replication environment with
  non-datasharing DB2 z/OS subsystems and CDC z/OS PTF UI47213
  applied, a newly created subscription with no table mappings
  will fail to start with the following error
  CHC9210E DB2 CAF IFI-READS request has failed.
  ReturnCode=X'0000000C', ReasonCode=X'00E60873', Diagnostic
  information (X'0000FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF')
  

Local fix

• Ensure at least one active table mapping exists prior to
  starting the subscription for the first time.

  The code in PTF UI47213 to establish the log start position
  did not fully account for an IDAA initialization scenario with
  non-datasharing DB2 subsystems.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code to set the log reading starting position was updated to
  correct the issue.
