Error description

  • During server shutdown, if ProductInsights is trying to
    complete its first registration it may not cancel all of its
    tasks properly, this can result in an FFDC and a CWWKR0401W
    message during server shutdown. It might also attempt to
    send usage but this will not result in a explicit client
    facing failure, only informational messages. Example FFDC:
    
    Exception = org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException

    Stack Dump = org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException:
    Connect to [HOST] failed: Connection refused
    
    Note: This FFDC can occur for many reasons, this APAR is for
    the case it happens during server shutdown if
    ProductInsights is attempting to register for the first
    time.

    During server shutdown, if ProductInsights is trying to complete
    its first registration it may not cancel all of its tasks
    properly, this can result in an FFDC and a CWWKR0401W message
    during server shutdown.  It might also attempt to send usage
    data but this will not result in an explicit client facing
    failure, only info messages. Example FFDC:
    
    Exception = org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException

Problem conclusion

  • ProductInsights has been updated to clean up its tasks in the
    specific scenario of server shutdown during the time of first
    registration.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    pack 17.0.0.3.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
