APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • WebSphere Portal is performing a cross-context include to a
portlet web application that uses CDI.

CDI implementation calls setAttribute into the session using
the listener.requestInitialized path. The WELD_S_HASH attribute
is stored in the session for the dispatching srevlet rather
than in the session for the target servlet.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The new implementation of CDI in the WebSphere Application
Server version 9.0 and Liberty 17.0 tried to retrieve a session
ID during a cross context resource dispatching. This
operation was done prior to the session collaboration in the
server was completed; thus the session ID could not always be
    obtained.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebContainer code was modified to call CDI process
accordingly during the cross context dispatching.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fixpack 9.0.0.5 and 17.0.0.3
