Error description

RC=8 RSN=96 is issued from a  WOLA service called
from an IMS CCTL region.

This happens with this environment: a CCTL coordinator ->
DBCTL,
in other words, using the same API as CICS ( Database
Resource
Adapter, DRA ).   The address space has multiple TCBs
each of which is an IMS dependent region.

This is reported on WAS - 16.0.0.3; z/OS Connect - 02.00.07

WOLA is attempting to use the external subsystem attach facility
(ESAF) from an address space which is connected to IMS, but is
not a full managed region (such as an MPR).  This results in a
RC=8 RSN=96 from all calls to BBOA1* routines.

Problem conclusion

Code was added to prevent WOLA from using ESAF when the IMS
region type does not allow it.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 17.0.0.2.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
