Error description
The application server may frequently emit message WSVR0651 to the system log as the SOAP connector thread pool grows far beyond its default maximul pool size during heavy workloads.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The application server emits message * * WSVR0651I indicating the * * SOAPConnectorThreadPool has grown * * multiple times its maximum. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** An application server may emit message WSVR0651I several times indicating the size of the SOAPConnectorThreadPool, a growable thread pool, has exceeded several multiples of its initial maximum size. For example: [2/20/17 12:00:36:724 EST] 0000007c ThreadPool I WSVR0651I: The SoapConnectorThreadPool growable thread pool has grown to 15 times its initially-configured maximum of 5. The message is benign and likely to emit on systems incurring high file I/O activity or latency, because the work executed over the SoapConnectorThreadPool is sensitive to file system performance. For this reason, and only for this thread pool, message WSVR06551I will now write to the trace log rather than the system log by default. This behavior may be reverted by setting system property "com.ibm.websphere.management.soapConnectorThreadPoolLogGrowth" in the Generic JVM argments field of the application server's JVM configuration. For example: "- Dcom.ibm.websphere.management.soapConnectorThreadPoolLogGrowth =true" Similarly, the initial maximum size of the SOAPConnectorThreadPool is configurable and defaults to 5. The default maximum is too small and has been increased to 50.
Problem conclusion
Apply APAR to enable the application server to write message WSVR0651I for the SOAPConnectorThreadPool, only, to the trace log rather than to the system log. The APAR also increases the default maximum size of the SOAPConnectorThreadPool to 50 from 5. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 9.0.0.4.
