PI79758: DFHPG0002 A SEVERE ERROR (CODE X'0506') HAS OCCURRED IN MODULE DFHPGIS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You have a backout exit program that is enabled via the SIT
  parm TBEXITS.
  When you perform the following events against the exit program:
  .
  1) CECI DISABLE EXITALL PROG(********) STOP
  2) CEMT S PROG(********) NEW
  .
  The CEMT abended AEXZ, and you got the DFHPG0002 message on the
  console:
  .
   DFHPG0002 applid A severe error (code X'0506') has occurred in
   module DFHPGIS
  .
  After that, you can't do anything (Inquire, Set) with the exit
  program any more.
  .
  If you have a dump taken for the PG0002 message, you could see
  something like this in the CICS trace:

  The ELEMENT_ADDRESS and ELEMENT_LENGTH passed to the
  INQUIRE_ACCESS request is not valid, which finally results in
  the failure of the INQUIRE-PROGRAM request. And the x'0506'
  exception is issued to report this error.

  Also, the CPE_APE_CHAIN_SIZE dose not match the actual numbers
  of the APEs that the exit program has.

  * RECOMMENDATION: .                                            *

  A program is enabled as an exit program using the
  TBEXITS SIT system initialisation parameter.
  A program definition for this exit program is installed
  by CICS system autoinstall, and this definition is updated
  by a resource definition installed from the GRPLIST.
  After CICS has started, the exit is DISABLED, then a NEWCOPY
  request is issued for the exit program.
  The NEWCOPY fails with either of the following messages,
  and an abendAEXZ.
  DFHPG0002 applid A severe error (code X'0506') has occurred
  in module DFHPGIS
  DFHLD0001 applid An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at
  offset X'0652' in module DFHLDLD3.
  .
  The error occurs because when the install was performed from
  the GRPLIST, the CPE was left in an inconsistent state.
  CPE_PROGRAM_STATUS=CPE_UNUSED but CPE_APE_CHAIN_SIZE=1.

Problem conclusion

• DFHLDLD2 is updated so that the redefine of the
  exit program caused by the GRPLIST RDO entry does not
  leave the program definition in an inconsistent state.
