PI79543: MSGDFS0730I UNABLE TO OPEN DATA SET REASON O,A8 MAY OCCUR AFTER A CLONING JOB

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During IMSDBREFRESH there are circumstances where ADRDSSU may
  use IDCAMS to copy the VSAM dataset even when FASTREP is
  requested.   When this occurs ADR issues a message stating that
  FASTREP could not be used.
  Customer states that since applying PI31796 they have
  experienced error message "DFS0730I Unable to Open Data Set
  Reason O,A8"
  PI31796 introduced SVC screening in an attempt to alleviate
  previous ENQ issues.
  This APAR will utilize a new function in DFSMSdss
  made available by APAR OA49854
  (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=isg1OA498 54)
  instead of using SVC screening.
  In Cloning Tool when FUZZY-COPY(Y) is specified the bypass
  serialization on the Source will be set.
