Error description

  • When the IOVF portion is expanded by OAE, some SPCF pointers in
root segments still point to the IOVF portion. This is because
some SDEP segments were being placed in the first part of
the SDEP area, which was changed to the IOVF area by OAE. If
FPA Analyze or FPO OPC was run against the area, one of the
    following error messages is issued:
0108 SEGMENT AT RBA: xxxxxxxx (SEGCD: 01) HAS AN INCORRECT SDEP
          POINTER VALUE
1005 Root segment contains invalid RBA for a SDEP segment.
However, this is not an actual pointer error and does not cause
    any problem.

FPA Analyze and FPO Online Pointer Checker is adding a new
option to suppress the above SDEP pointer errors.

    * Pointer Checker (OPC) utility add a new *
    * option that controls the severity level *
    * of the SDEP pointer that points to the *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
This APAR enables the FPA and the FPO to specify the severity
level of the message that is issued when detecting an SDEP
pointer that points to the IOVF portion.

A new option SDEP_PTRIOVF_MSGLVL is provided.
    If SDEP_PTRIOVF_MSGLVL=INFORMATIONAL is specified, an
information message is issued when an SDEP pointer that points
    to IOVF portion is detected.
If SDEP_PTRIOVF_MSGLVL=NOMSG is specified, no message is issued
when an SDEP pointer that points to IOVF portion is detected.
If SDEP_PTRIOVF_MSGLVL=ERROR (default) is specified, a pointer
error message is issued when an SDEP pointer that points to IOVF
portion is detected. This is the same behavior as before.

Following FPA functions support SDEP_PTRIOVF_MSGLVL option.
     - FPA Analyze
     - FPA Reorg
Following FPO utilities support SDEP_PTRIOVF_MSGLVL option.
     - Online Pointer Checker
     - Online Expert Reorganization

    This APAR also handles followings.
    1. Add RBA value to the FPX0011E message.
    2. Avoid causing a loop when One step OPC fails a DL/I call.
    3. Avoid causing a hang when OPC detects a pointer that points
    to outside the DEDB area.
    4. Modify some FPO modules to prevent unnecessary L1 cache
    invalidations.
