• The load balancer server code builds graphical update
  notications for every configuration change.

  Configuration changes made thru the command line interface
  (dscontrol) or by using default.cfg when the load balancer
  server is started do not complete as quickly as possible.
  

Problem conclusion

• When you have the graphical user interface, lbadmin,
  running, updates are reflected dynamically when the
  configuration is changed thru a default configuration load or
  command line changes. The load balancer server process builds
  these configuration updates and this was consuming a lot of
  time and resources when the GUI was not running. Code was
  corrected to check if the GUI is running and not build the
  updates if is it not running. This performance improvement has
  no impact when the GUI is running. It is not recommended to
  keep the GUI running when the system is not actively being
  monitored since it consumes unnessary resources.
