PI79308: CUSTOMER IS EDITING A FILE RECEIVES ERROR MESSAGE RECORD SIZE (2319) INVALID FOR FIXED, 10376.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer is editing a dataset with a copybook that is variable
  length and the file is fixed length and has PAD set to OFF.
  User receives message FMNBA355, after they CANCEL and
  get back into the file some records are deleted.
  

Local fix

• Set PAD to ON.

  File Manager is not allowing Occurs Depending On (ODO) changes
  for fixed block files.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Manager is modified to allow Occurs Depending On (ODO)
  changes for fixed block files and pad the record with the PAD
  character specified
  in option 0.2 'System settings'.
