Error description

  • The DB2 Utility Detection Enhancement feature was extended to
support driving a user exit. The sample data structures for
interfacing with the user exit using different programming
languages were provided for the V6R2.1 user exit calling
interface, which has since been deprecated. No sample data
structures were provided for the V6R5 and higher calling
interface, which is the current in use. Documentation on how
to prepare the user exit is also insufficient.

Local fix

  • Use the V6R2.1 interface structures.

There are no descriptions of the data areas used by the user
exit called by the DB2 Utility Detection Enhancement for the
V6R5 (Level 1) exit interface paradigm.

Problem conclusion

  • Several sample user exits and exit interface descriptive members
have been updated to include the areas passed to the DB2 Utility
    Detection Enhancement user exit.
