Error description
When starting the ClearCase "xclearcase" or "xlsvtree" graphical interfaces on Linux hosts, using an invalid path, or failing to provide a path, may cause the application to hang. strace shows that the application is stalled waiting for a FUTEX: close(4) = 0 close(3) = 0 futex(0x6755bd8, FUTEX_WAIT, 3812, NULL Collecting the process stack shows the following: #0 0x008bb430 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0x0071310d in pthread_join () from /lib/libpthread.so.0 #2 0x008f2f00 in ccthread_join () from /opt/rational/clearcase/shlib/libatriaks.so #3 0x0091c40a in pfm_exit () from /opt/rational/clearcase/shlib/libatriaks.so #4 0x080544ec in vtree_start () #5 0x080548f8 in xclearcase_main () #6 0x0805f19d in main () This occurs when the internal pfm_exit() routine or exit() is called with a -1.
