APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ABENDS0C1 running HPCA after applying maintenance.  Message
  DFS301A UNABLE TO OPEN DDNAME SPIL0001
  also received.
  

Local fix

• Add the HPCCACHE DD statement to the job with the following
  control card:
  CACHE LEVEL=1,TYPE=64BIT,SPACE=2GB
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the IMS High Performance Change *
  *                 Accumulation Utility using AS1 mode.         *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Releasing the SPILL files while running *
  *                      in AS1 mode results in message:         *
  *                      "IEC130I SPIL0001 DD STATEMENT MISSING" *
  *                      Additional symptoms include S0C1 AbEnd. *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY corrective maintenance for PI78588.    *
  *                 The problem can be circumvented by the       *
  *                 following DD statement:                      *
  *                 //HPCCACHE DD *                              *
  *                  CACHE LEVEL=1,TYPE=64BIT,SPACE=32GB         *
  ****************************************************************
  HPCASPIL was incorrectly de-allocating SPILL files while running
  in AS1 mode.
  

Problem conclusion

• HPCASPIL is changed to check the AS1 mode indicator and if
  running in AS1 mode do not release the SPILxxxx files.
