Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Customization Toolbox V9.0 or IBM * * WebSphere Application Server for z/OS. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Migration cannot specify Location * * Services Daemon job name, or username * * and password are set to all 'X's * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The z/OS Migration Management Toolkit delivered the ability to clone an environment so the old and new profiles can coexist on the same z system. However, originally it did not include the abillity to specify the Location Services Daemon job name, so both profiles used the same name, and stopping one would stop both. In addition, an issue was found where the administrative security username and password fields appeared offscreen on certain configurations, causing users to miss the fields and provide migration with their default values, which are all X characters.
Problem conclusion
To prevent the duplicate Daemon job name, a new field is introduced which requests a new job name and specifies it when creating the profile used to hold the new environment. To prevent the incorrect username/password, the form was modified to default to no value for username and password, and to indicate to the user that these fields are required. APAR PI78565 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 9.0.0.4 of WebSphere Application Server Customization Toolbox and WebSphere Application Server for z/OS.
