Error description
We see below NullPointerExceptions in logs. When ever the session manager was not able to find the session context, these below exceptions are thrown. Cause: Most of the times these exceptions are due to the fact that, when the customers modify the deployment.xml file directly for any session manager changes. This gets resolved by redeploying the application. Instead of throwing the below NullPointerExceptions, session manager should add some nice message saying that the application need to be deployed or the configuration changes should not be done directly etc. ### [2/21/17 15:22:14:967 CST] 00000071 WebContainer E com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.internal.WebContainer getSessionContext SRVE8059E: An unexpected exception occurred when trying to retrieve the session context java.lang.NullPointerException at com.ibm.ws.session.WsSessionMgrComponentImpl.initSessionManagerC onfigFro mRCS(WsSessionMgrComponentImpl.java:602) at com.ibm.ws.session.WsSessionMgrComponentImpl.getSessionMgrConfig (WsSessi onMgrComponentImpl.java:763) at com.ibm.ws.session.WsSessionContextRegistry.getSMC(WsSessionCont extRegis try.java:167) at com.ibm.ws.session.SessionContextRegistry.getSessionContext(Sess ionConte xtRegistry.java:139) ###
