PI78502: DOC: SSLHANDSHAKEEXCEPTION OCCURS DURING APNS PUSH NOTIFICATIONS USING EARLY VERSIONS OF IBM JDK 1.8

Error description

• Conponents affected: Foundation Server / Push Notifications
  Versions of IBM JDK 1.8 earlier than version 8.0.3.11 contain
  critical SSL issues that can cause SSLHandshakeExceptions to be
  logged when sening Push notifications to APNS.  The exceptions
  in the log will appear similar to the following:

  javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert:
  handshake_failure
  Please note that this issue does NOT occur when the Foundation
  Server is running within an Oracle 1.7 or 1.8 JVM, or an IBM
  1.7 JVM.  Only IBM JDK 1.8 JVMs are affected.
  

Local fix

• The solution is to upgrade IBM JDK 1.8 to version 8.0.3.11 or
  above.
