APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Comapre DDL to Catalog to generate a worklist. But Compare
    generates instructions in the worklist for MQTs that are not
    referenced in the DDL at all and from a DB2 point of view are
    not impacted.
    
    The worklist has START RO and also UNLOAD, CHECK, COPY for the
    tablespaces that contain an MQT.
    

Local fix

  • Manually eliminate all irrelevant unload, load and check
    and copy instructions for these MQTs.

    *                 setting 'Suppress DROP of objects'           *
    *                 option to 'YES'.                             *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When 'Suppress DROP of objects' option  *
    *                      is set to 'YES' during Compare process, *
    *                      unexpected UNLOAD statement is generate *
    *                      in the change file for the MQT table    *
    *                      space which is target only, user manage *
    *                      and there is not dropped/recreated due  *
    *                      base object change.                     *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    When 'Suppress DROP of objects' option is set to 'YES'
    during Compare process, unexpected UNLOAD statement is
    generated in the change file for the MQT table space
    which is target only, user managed, and there is not
    dropped/recreated due to base object change.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been resolved.
