PI77519: QCF LEAVING 200K RESIDUAL STORAGE IN E-CSA AFTER IMS IS SHUT DOWN (OR ABENDS) WHILE QCF PANELS ARE OPEN

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• QCF is leaving 200k in storage when IMS is shut-down or ABENDS
  while QCF panels are open.  Eyecatcher that can be seen in the
  residual storage is MRQPSB.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of QCF 3.2                             *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After running QCF programs, customer    *
  *                      noticed that the QCF function received  *
  *                      AIB RC 00F0 with an A008 reason code    *
  *                      stating -Exceeds ECSA high water mark-  *
  *                      The customer then checked the ECSA and  *
  *                      found that there were trails of about   *
  *                      200K of ECSA for each instance of IMS   *
  *                      CTRL region that stopped.               *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Install the APAR to receive the fix to       *
  *                 release all storage to reduce ECSA           *
  ****************************************************************
  After running QCF programs, customer noticed that the QCF
  function received AIB RC 00F0 with an A008 reason code stating
  -Exceeds ECSA high water mark- The customer then checked the
  ECSA and found that there were trails of about 200K of ECSA for
  each instance of IMS CTRL region that stopped.
  

Problem conclusion

• Install the APAR to receive the fix to release all storage to
  reduce ECSA
