PI77465: COMMUNICATIONS ERROR WITH Z/VM 6.4 NODE WHEN USING A SHARED CATALOG

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The built-in MD5 stage introduced by CMS pipes in z/VM 6.4
  conflicted with the Tape Manager MD5 stage in the EUMPIPE
  filter package. Tape Manager has been updated with the
  ability to utilize whichever stage is active.

Local fix

• The issue can be circumvented by logging off the TMM
  machine on the z/VM 6.4 system and copying the EUMPIPE
  MODULE from the 400 disk to PIPPTFF MODULE on the TMM 191
  disk, and restarting TMM machine. The file can be removed
  from the 191 disk once the fixing PTF is applied.
