PI77449: ADB5031W MESSAGE AND SQLCODE -713 RUNNING ADBTEP2 RESTART

APAR status

Error description

• An ADBTEP2 restart of a job may end with rc=4, and the ADBDIAG
  output will show a sqlcode -713 error and the following message:
  
  ADB5031W No statements were found that can be run.

  *                      ADBTEP2, restart of the work statement  *
  *                      list (WSL) displays warning message     *
  *                      ADB5031W / msgadb5031w:                 *
  *                                                              *
  *                      ADB5031W No statements were found that  *
  *                      can be run.                             *
  *                                                              *
  *                      Also, ADBTEP2 internally sets the       *
  *                      special register with an invalid value. *
  *                      An SQLCODE=-713 is shown in the         *
  *                      ADBDIAG log:                            *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When the work statement list (WSL) is opened in edit mode,
  the CM Batch run process failed to setup SYSIN during
  restart of ADBTEP2. Lack of input in the SYSIN file makes
  ADBTEP2 assume that there are no statements to process,
  resulting in warning message ADB5031W / msgadb5031w in
  SYSPRINT:
  
  ADB5031W No statements were found that can be run.
  
  Also, Batch Restart program ADBTEP2 internally sets special
  registers with an invalid value. The following SQLCODE=-713 /
  SQLCODEN713 error code appears in the ADBDIAG log:
  
  >READRTN SQLcode= -713
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved.
  When the failure occurs while preparing SYSIN, the following
  message ADB9970E / msgadb9970e will be issued and the program
  will be terminated:
  
  ADB9970E Error setting up SYSIN file: <file name>
