Error description

  • After a DB2/CICS thread was cancelled via a TMON PURGE with
ABENDU0999 seen, DB2 abended 04E 00E50002 in DSNIPSBL and then
crashed with MSGDSNV086E RC00D94001 since in a must complete
window and DSNIPSBL didn't check if it really held the internal
latch before issuing the free latch call, so DB2 abended as no
latch was actually held.

ABEND04E RC00E50002 In DSNIPSBL OFFSET0A30 when releasing an
internal DB2 latch that it doesn't have. This abend can bring
down DB2 if it happens in a must complete window.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Fixes made in DB2 internal latch processing. It will now check
to see if it holds the latch before issuing the free-latch call.
