    (C:>). As command input enter

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: PE Client does not specify a specific *
    *                      destination when starting a trace.      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
The PE Client does not specify a specific destination when
Starting a DB2 Trace from the dynamic and static statement cache
    panels.
On DB2 11 and later subsystems the missing destination clause in
the START TRACE command causes the DB2 trace collection to stop
immediately after the command execution from the PE Client code,
since DB2 flags the trace as an -orphaned- trace in case the
    destination is not specified.

Problem conclusion

  • The PE Client code has been changed to include DEST(SMF) in the
START TRACE command issued thru the DB2 IFI interface.
The following START TRACE is executed from the PE Client for
starting dynamic and static statement cache trace collection:
    Dynamic statement cache metric collection:
       START TRACE(MON) CLASS(1) IFCID(318) DEST(SMF)
    Static statement cache metric collection:
       START TRACE(MON) CLASS(1) IFCID(400) DEST(SMF)
