Error description
If we try to import a record from a domain account, the import fails. The ClearQuest importer tries to create a file in the Directory C:\Users\<USER>\.Rational\ClearQuest\rcp\.metadata\.plugins\com. ibm.rational.clearquest.importtool.ui\ with the name <DOMAIN\USER, REPOSITORY@DATABASE_config_record-fieldmapping.xml>. It fails because the "\" is an illegal character in a filename. A file with a⠝\⠝ in the filename on windows cannot be created as per below microsoft documentation : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa36524 7(v=vs.85).aspx Workaround: On removing the check from the ⠜Save Configuration⠝ just before the finish the import. The record get imported. The import itself does not fail, it is the action of saving the import configuration that fails

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * ClearQuest Eclipse * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * The operation of importing records in ClearQuest Eclipse * * with the save configuration option selected fails if the * * current user is logged into a ClearQuest defined (ldap) * * domain. The configuration file generated in this case * * contains the user's login credentials plus domain separated * * by a backslash. The backslash is not a legal filename * * character which causes this failure. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
A fix is available in ClearQuest 9.0.0.5 and 9.0.1.1 In this case, the backslash is converted to an underscore and the operation of importing records and saving the configuration file now succeeds.
