    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
FPB DEDB pointer checker utility FABADA5 program gets ABENDS0C7
when a UOW uses 100,000 or more IOVF CIs. This abend is caused
by a product overflow of the MP (MULTIPLY DECIMAL) instruction.

FPA Analyze function and FPB DEDB pointer checker utility
FABADA5 program get ABENDS0CB when a UOW contains excessive
large number of database records (approximately 90,000 records).
This abend occurs when a standard deviation of the physical
segment I/O is calculated and is caused by a quotient overflow
of the DP (DIVIDE DECIMAL) instruction.

Problem conclusion

  • FPB DEDB pointer checker utility is modified to increase the
first operand of the MP instruction to avoid the ABENDS0C7.

FPA Analyze function and FPB DEDB pointer checker utility are
modified not to calculate the standard deviation of the physical
segment I/O if the calculation would possibly be overflowed. In
this case, ***** is set instead of a numerical value.
