Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * Users that use a SQL statement containing text that has * * double quotes (") surrounding a colon * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * If double quotes (") surround SQL text in a SQL statement * * and that text contains a colon, then the cobol writer * * thought that the colon was to delineate a variable and * * caused the line to be split, for readability. The logic was * * looking for single quotes to prevent this, but didn't check * * for double quotes. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
The logic has been changed to check for both single double quotes.
